We Studied 50 US Moving Company Facebook Ads. Here's What They Have in Common.
In October 2026 we reviewed 50 active Facebook and Instagram ads from 39 US moving companies in the Meta Ad Library. Most were simple images that sent people to a website with a "Get quote" button. The typical ad had been running for about eight months, and four in ten ads offered the customer nothing specific.
Key findings
- The typical ad had been running for 233 days (median). 47 of 50 ads had run for 30 days or more, 42 for 90 days or more, and 19 for over a year.
- Images dominate. 35 ads were single images, 12 were videos and 3 were carousels.
- "Get quote" is the default button, used on 31 of 50 ads.
- Almost everything goes to a website. 38 ads sent people to a website and only 5 to Messenger.
- 20 of 50 ads (40%) had no offer at all.
- Ads with no offer had run far longer (median 406 days) than ads with an offer (median 173 days).
- Long-distance movers lead with price. 9 ads showed a price, such as an hourly rate or a long-distance move "from" a set amount.
- Trust is the main battleground. Several hooks warned against moving brokers who raise the price after pickup.
Formats
| Format | Ads | Median days running |
|---|---|---|
| Image | 35 | 246 |
| Video | 12 | 198 |

Only 3 carousels, so treat that median with caution.

Some ads use more than one offer, so the rows add up to more than 50.

Does a long-running ad mean it works?
Not necessarily. The Ad Library shows when an ad started, not how many leads it brings. In this study, ads with no offer had a median run of 406 days, more than double the 173 days for ads with an offer. That pattern suggests many of the longest-running ads are left alone rather than tested. A long run shows the ad is affordable to keep, not that it is the best ad the business could run.
What this means if you run a moving company
- Give people a specific reason to act. With 40% of ads offering nothing, a guaranteed price or a clear hourly rate stands out.
- Answer the broker fear directly. Say who will actually do the move and that the quoted price will not change after pickup.
- Name your city in the first line. Only 13 of the 50 ads named a place in the first line, which leaves most ads speaking to everyone and no one.
- Test video. Images make up 70% of these ads, so a short clip of your crew on a real job is less crowded.
- Refresh ads that have run for months without a test. A long run is a reason to try a new version.

Australia vs the United States
These figures compare with our Australian study of 50 removalist ads, run the same way on the same day.
| Measure | Australia | United States |
|---|---|---|
| Median days running | 172 | 233 |
| Ads running over a year | 11 | 19 |
| Single image ads | 29 | 35 |
| "Get quote" button | 21 | 31 |
| Sent to Messenger | 15 | 5 |
| No offer at all | 38% | 40% |
| Ads showing a price | 8 | 9 |
US ads run longer and lean even harder on websites and the "Get quote" button. Australian removalists send three times as many people to Messenger. In both countries, about four in ten ads give the customer no reason to act now.
How we did this study
On 22 October 2026 we searched the Meta Ad Library with Country set to United States, Ad category set to All ads and Status set to Active ads, using the search terms "movers", "moving company", "local movers" and "long distance movers". We recorded 50 ads from 39 businesses, with no more than two ads per business. We left out junk removal, truck rental, storage-only businesses, apps hiring drivers, real estate and recruitment ads, and two advertisers that appeared to be Canadian. Five of the 50 ads came from moving quote or cost-calculator websites rather than movers; we kept them because they advertise to the same customers. "Days running" is counted from the start date shown in the Ad Library to 22 October 2026.
Limits of this study
The Ad Library does not show spend, reach or results, so this study shows what moving companies run, not which ads perform best. It is a snapshot taken on a single day.
Frequently asked questions
What type of Facebook ad do US moving companies use most?
Single image ads. In our October 2026 study of 50 active ads, 35 were images, 12 were videos and 3 were carousels.
How long do moving company Facebook ads usually run?
The median ad in our study had been running for 233 days, and 19 of 50 ads had been running for more than a year.
Should a moving company show prices in Facebook ads?
Many long-distance movers do. 9 of the 50 ads showed a price, such as an hourly rate or a "from" price for a long-distance move, which helps filter out people who were never going to book.
Does Click Orchard follow up the leads?
No. Click Orchard creates and runs your Meta ads and delivers the leads. Following up and closing the job is done by your team.
